GSA Conference Funding | LIS GSA Conference Funding | Special Event LIS GSA Funding
Each Master's student is entitled to $150 to aid in conference attendance and travel ($250 if presenting) during the course of his/her graduate career from the Graduate Student Association. Please visit their funding webpage for more information.
LIS GSA can also provide funding for students to attend conferences (up to $100 per academic year). Funding requests are due on the 15th of the month previous to your conference. For any conferences taking place in May-July, requests are due April 15th. For any conferences taking place in August you must submit a request on August 1st. It is also advised to email the current president and lisgsa@gmail.com as soon as an August request is submitted.

After you are approved at an open LIS GSA meeting, you will be notified. The LIS GSA Treasurer will submit your paperwork to GSA and contact you if further information is required.
While incurring expenses during conference attendance, be sure to collect itemized receipts. The GSA office will only accept itemized receipts for reimbursement.
Upon returning from your conference, you will have 60-days to submit your receipts to the GSA office, located on the third floor of the student union. When submitting your itemized receipts, please take a copy of the minutes from the meeting where you were approved. The GSA staff will match your receipts and documentation to what they have on file and let you know if anything else is needed. Checks are usually sent within 2-weeks of submission.
The LIS GSA will also help with funding to plan special events. If you would like to organize an event, please fill out the Request for Event Funding from the LIS GSA and turn it into any officer (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) for consideration. You may also email a scanned copy of the form to lisgsa@gmail.com. Please turn this form in at least three weeks before your event.
