OCT 9: New York Teachers Summit

What: New York Teachers Summit
When: Monday, Oct. 9, 2017
Where: Student Union, University at Buffalo (North Campus)

The University at Buffalo, Buffalo State and SUNY Fredonia are co-hosting the first ever state-wide New York teachers summit sponsored by SUNY, as part of a planning grant SUNY received from the Gates Foundation.

The local summit will be held at the University at Buffalo’s Student Union on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017.

This event is being organized by teachers, for teachers. The theme of the summit is “Connect. Grow. Collaborate. Inspire.” Teachers will come together at nine SUNY campuses distributed throughout the state to connect passion with purpose, grow beyond boundaries, honor collective experiences and move forward in uplifting the teaching profession. This summit will be a natural extension of SUNY’s efforts around TeachNY to lift up the teaching profession.

Attendance for pre-service and in-service teachers is free, CTLE credit is offered to PreK-12 teachers, and participants can look forward to an exciting day of professional development and networking.

Session proposals are still being accepted through Monday, Sept. 4.

The strength of this event is dependent on as many educators coming together to share their ideas and learn from one another. We encourage you to invite those in your networks and listservs who may be interested and benefit from this day of events. More details to come.
