GSE ranked in the top 19% of education schools

GSE Ranked in the Top 19% of Education Schools by U.S. News & World Report

The Graduate School of Education has been placed among the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report in its annual ranking. The 2017 ranking places UB/GSE at 71, which is in the top 19% of the 376 doctoral granting education schools that were surveyed. Last year, GSE was ranked at number 76. In addition, the school’s rehabilitation counseling program is ranked 21st and online programs is currently 41st nationwide and in the top 15% of all online programs.

I am proud of our many award-winning faculty members' scholarly accomplishments, as well as the quality education for students across GSE. We strive for excellence through the 'GSE Pillars of Distinction': (1) evidence-based educational improvement across the lifespan; (2) pedagogy of inquiry, engagement, and impact; (3) lifelong support for students and alumni; and (4) interprofessional collaboration and global partnership."

The Graduate School of Education offers a wide range of master's, doctoral, and advanced certificate programs, including preparation toward New York State certification, through its four departments: Counseling, School, and Educational Psychology; Educational Leadership and Policy; Learning and Instruction; and Library and Information Studies.
