Special Requirements for Certain Program Areas

Secondary Mathematics

A three hour entrance exam is required. The exam is given on an individual basis and you may arrange to take the exam by calling (716) 645-4067. You should call at least 24 hours in advance.

TESOL and Foreign Language Education

Applicants to this program are required to submit 2 confidential recommendations.

Special Education

The Ph.D. in Special Education is a joint program between the University at Buffalo and Buffalo State College. The program is designed for those who already hold a master's degree in special education. A combination of course work, internships, field experiences, and original research provides a comprehensive background in special education for those who aspire to academic appointments in universities or colleges, or leadership roles in school systems.
