International Student Resources
UB welcomes qualified international graduate applicants; with nearly 5,000 international students from more than 100 different countries, you'll find that UB offers a warm and welcoming environment.
Graduate education at UB is decentralized. This means you need to interact directly with the relevant graduate department and submit applications and documentation directly to that department. The office of International Admissions serves only as the final clearinghouse in the admissions process.
The Office of International Student and Scholar Services serves the international community of the University at Buffalo, including students, visiting scholars, faculty and researchers. We provide immigration services, initial and on-going orientation programming and general support to this international population.
The English Language Institute, founded in 1971 and a unit of the Graduate School of Education of the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (UB), offers English language instruction, cultural orientation, and preacademic training to international students, scholars, and professionals on an intensive as well as on a per-course basis.
