John Ellison has been selected as the external examiner for the LS61 Management of Information Units at the University of the West Indies.

John has taught library studies courses at eleven different universities including Emory University, University of Illinois, University of Kentucky, University of Oklahoma, The University of the West Indies, Central Michigan University, Wright State University, Sam Houston State University, and the University of Cape Coast to name a few. He has also been a Fulbright Scholar in Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago. His teaching areas are Management, Marketing, Intellectual Freedom, Academic and Research Libraries, and Non-Book Material. He has taught Effective University Teaching several times at UB.

John is the first faculty member at the University at Buffalo to deliver a full course over the Internet. In addition he has given papers at International Distance Education conferences in Ghana, Puerto Rico and at IFLA in Switzerland. Most recently he gave a presentation at ALA in New Orleans.

My research agenda includes, but is not exclusive to, "Measuring the Impact of Distance Learning on Graduate Students at the University Level," "Violence in the Workplace," "Alternative to Homeschooling Instruction and Traditional Educational Methods," and "The Psychological, Personal, Social, Physical and Professional Impact of Censorship Challenges on Librarians."
